Paint it Forward Community Mural Program

Each year through my Paint It Forward program, I provide one free mural (estimated value: $3,000 - $5,000) to a deserving community organization, transforming their space with vibrant artwork that reflects their mission and values.

This initiative aims to:

  • Enhance community spaces with inspiring and uplifting artwork..

  • Support local organizations that make a positive impact.

  • Foster creativity and connection through public art.

I encourage non-profits, schools, community centres and grassroots organizations to apply and help me to bring colour and creativity to spaces that need it most! Currently, applications are open to community organizations within HRM only. I hope to expand this opportunity wider in the future!

The selected organization will collaborate with me to design and install a mural that resonates with their community.

Applications open annually on March 1st and close March 31, 2025 —apply today and let’s create something beautiful together!

  • This program is open to community organizations located in the HRM, Nova Scotia.

To ensure a successful and feasible mural installation, all applicants must meet the following project eligibility requirements:

    • The mural must not exceed 150 square feet in total area.

    • The design should be suitable for completion within the program’s timeline and budget.

    2. Wall & Surface Requirements

    • The selected wall must be paint-ready, meaning it is clean, smooth, and in good structural condition.

    • The organization must be responsible for any necessary wall repairs, priming, or preparation before the mural installation.

    3. Installation Feasibility

    • The project must not require special equipment, such as scaffolding, lifts, or extensive safety gear.

    • The wall must be safely accessible for artists using standard ladders or step stools.

    4. Location & Visibility

    • The mural should be located in a community-facing, publicly visible, or high-traffic area where it can positively impact the organization and those it serves.

    • Indoor and outdoor walls are eligible, but outdoor locations must be able to withstand weather conditions.

    5. Ownership & Permissions

    • The applicant must own the property or have written permission from the property owner to install the mural.
